Women's Golf takes fourth place at Minnesota Invitational

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Women's Golf team finished fourth at the Minnesota Invitational. The team played three rounds of golf, two on Saturday and a final round on Sunday. The team totals were 313, 316, 313. The Salukis finished ahead of all other Missouri Valley Conference schools at the tournament.
Coach Diane Daugherty thought the team played well and is already thinking about next tournament.
"We are really close to playing really good," Daugherty said. "I am glad we got this first tournament under our belts and I think that come Wednesday when we leave for Myrtle Beach, we will be ready to shoot some good scores."
Placing the highest for the Salukis was Natalie Parker, who tied for seventh (78-81-74=233). Josie Lowder was tied for seventh after the end of the first day but finished the tournament tied for 13th (78-77-80=235). Freshman Braidy Hood also finished in the top-25 in her first tournament as a Saluki, tying for 24th (77-82-80=239). Christine Zoerlein ended up tying for 27th (80-80-80=240) while Samantha Sutzer finished tied for 31st (84-78-79=241).
The next tournament for the Salukis is Sept. 23-25 at the Bay Tree Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
