CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois Women's Golf returns to action Oct. 19-20 at the Charles Braun Jr. Intercollegiate in Evansville, Indiana.
The Salukis head into the tournament just one week after competing at the Lady Red Wolves Classic in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where Southern Illinois finished 11th at 27-over par.
Kayla Sayyalinh led SIU with a strong performance, finishing tied for 12th at one-under for the tournament. Head Coach Samantha Sambursky was encouraged by Sayyalinh's breakthrough after dealing with an injury earlier in the year, as well as the team's overall consistency with its ball striking.
Southern Illinois also posted two team rounds under 300 at the Lady Red Wolves Classic, giving the Salukis something to build on as they prepare for another quick turnaround.
The Charles Braun Jr. Intercollegiate gives SIU another opportunity to continue improving its short game and carry momentum into the final stretch of the fall schedule. The tournament will take place Oct. 19-20 in Evansville.
