CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois women's golf returns to competition Oct. 12-13 at the Lady Red Wolves Classic in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
The two-day tournament will be played at Sage Meadows Country Club.
The Salukis will send six golfers to compete: Mackenzie Thomas, Maria Eugenia Peres, Kayla Sayyalinh, Poppy Norcott, Zeme Moore and Calli Smith.
Southern Illinois last competed at The Velvet in Paducah, Kentucky, where the Salukis finished tied for ninth in the 14-team field. Freshman Maria Eugenia Peres led the way with rounds of 77-76-75, while Calli Smith posted a steady 78-77-78 over 54 holes.
After several weeks away from competition, the Salukis are ready to get back on the course and continue building through the fall season.
The Lady Red Wolves Classic gives SIU another opportunity to compete against a strong field and carry its progress into the final stretch of the fall schedule.
