The Southern Illinois men's basketball team will begin the season ranked #27 in the Associated Press poll, which was released on Monday.
Other Missouri Valley Conference teams in the poll include Creighton (#19), Wichita State (#26) and Missouri State (#49).
The Salukis, who are also #29 in the preseason ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll, begin the regular season on Friday with a home game against Washington (Mo.) at 7 p.m.
