Saturday's softball games with Wichita State cancelled

WICHITA, Kan. - After steady rains through the night, wet field conditions have again forced the cancellation of a Southern Illinois University softball doubleheader.

Coaches and administrators initially delayed the game, hoping to prepare the field and that impending weather would hold off. At 12:15 p.m., with the field already in rough shape and more weather on the way, the decision was made to call the games.

The team now awaits to see how action finishes out in the Missouri Valley Conference to determine seeding and opponents for next week's MVC Tournament in Omaha, Neb.
