Women's Golf finishes in sixth at Pat Bradley Championship

FORT MEYERS, Fla. - The Southern Illinois women's golf team completed its fall schedule today at the Pat Bradley Championship in Fort Meyers, Fla.
The Salukis moved up one spot from seventh to finish in sixth place at the tournament.
"We were in tough, tough competition," said head coach Dianne Daugherty. "We're playing Texas Tech and a bunch of Florida schools. We didn't achieve our goal of breaking 300, but it was windy and rainy and I think only one school broke 300. We were close, but not where we wanted."
The Salukis were led by senior Kelly Gerlach, who finished in 16th with a 229 (78-75-76). Braidy Hood was SIU's second finisher with a 231 (76-89-75), placing her in a tie for 18th.
Lauren May finished in a tie for 21st, shooting a 232 (74-82-76). Christine Zoerlein posted a 234 (75-79-80), finishing in a tie for 24th.
Kate Laegeler rounded out the Salukis' scoring, shooting a 247 (80-86-81) to finish in a 56th.
The Salukis will return to action in the spring with the Southern Mississippi Invitational Feb. 11-12 in Baja, Mexico.
