Randal Falker named Missouri Valley Conference Player-of-the-Week

Southern Illinois forward Randal Falker was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player-of-the-Week on Monday, marking the first time in his career the St. Louis-native has won the award.

Falker averaged 16.0 ppg and 11.0 rpg in Saluki wins over Indiana State and at Wichita State last week. He converted 11-of-21 (.524) shots from the field in the two games.

Against the Sycamores he had his fifth double-double of the season and fourth in conference play with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Against the Shockers, he fought off stomach flu to play 35 minutes and score 13 points and grab eight rebounds.

Falker ranks among the league leaders in scoring (3rd), rebounding (3rd) and blocked shots (1st) in conference games.
