Jamaal Tatum named Academic All-District

For the second-straight year, Southern Illinois University senior guard Jamaal Tatum has been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District men's basketball team.
Tatum leads the Salukis in scoring with 14.0 ppg and carries a 3.64 cumulative GPA, while majoring in speech communications.
He was one of five players named to the team in District V. The others were A.J. Graves (Butler), Trent Wurtz (Indiana State), Drew Streicher (Butler) and Mick Schachtner (Wisconsin-Green Bay).
Including Tatum, a total of 40 student-athletes advanced to the national ballot for potential Academic All-America honors. Members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) select the teams.
To be eligible, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have completed at least one year of classes at the school where they are enrolled.
