Weather forces cancellation of Saturday Softball game

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Saturday's softball game between the No. 20/22 Southern Illinois University and Missouri State has been cancelled because of poor field conditions.

A steady rain that started Friday afternoon and continues through Saturday morning is the cause of the field conditions.

Originally scheduled as a doubleheader on Saturday, the schedule was changed for a 2 p.m. single-game start. But, with the rain not letting up, that option had to be called off.

The teams will return to the field on Sunday with a 12 p.m. doubleheader at SIU's Charlotte West Stadium.
