Riley earns MVC weekly honors again

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Southern Illinois University track and field thrower Brittany Riley was named Missouri Valley Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

Riley, who hails from Flossmoor, Ill., threw a career-best 227-02 in the women's hammer throw at the Mt. SAC Relays Sunday afternoon. The mark is the second-best throw in the NCAA this season and breaks the SIU and Missouri Valley Conference record that the junior set March 30 (222-11) at the Missouri Relays.

This marks the seventh time this season and the ninth time Riley has garnered weekly honors in her Saluki career.
