SALUKIS BACK IN MIDWEEK ACTION
SIU playes its third-straight game outside of league play when it visits SE Missouri State Tuesday. The Salukis are 18-7 in non-conference play and 4-2 in midweek games this season. Four of SIU's first six midweek games were played against Ohio Valley Conference opponents, where the Dawgs are 3-1 (2-0 vs. UT-Martin; 1-1 vs. Murray State).
SERIES HISTORY
SIU holds a 41-21-1 series lead against SEMO. The home team has won each of the last four meetings. The Salukis lost, 13-11 (2006) and 7-3 (2005) in their last two trips to Cape Girardeau, Mo.
ADAMS NAMED MVC PITCHER-OF-THE-WEEK
Sophomore RHP Cody Adams was named MVC Pitcher-of-the-Week on April 9. A week after suffering his only loss of the season, Adams carved up Valparaiso for a career-high 10 strikeouts and allowed just two hits in a complete game 7-0 shutout on Easter Sunday. A native of Viola, Ill., Adams recorded at least one strikeout in every inning, did not allow a walk and retired 13 of his last 14 hitters in the nine-inning gem. He improved to 8-1 on the year.
COMPLETE PACKAGE
Cody Adams, who has gone the distance in two of his last three starts, became the first Saluki pitcher to register 10 or more strikeouts in a game since Tyler Norrick fanned 12 at Bradley on April 8, 2005. Adams has struck out a team-high 51 and walked only 13 in 59.2 innings this season. He leads the league with eight wins and has gone his last 17.2 innings without allowing a walk.
HILLS' HITTING STREAK REACHES 15 GAMES
Junior OF/INF Adam Hills is on a 15-game hitting streak, currently the second-longest in the Valley behind Evansville's Jim Viscomi (17 games). Hills, who ranks third on the team with a .333 batting average, is 19-for-55 (.345) with 11 runs scored, five doubles and 11 RBI in that stretch. He is the third first-year player to own a double-digit game hitting streak for the Dawgs. True freshmen Aaron Roberts (14 games, 3/7-3/31) and Michael Finigan (11 games, 3/11-3/30) are the others.
Top-Five Longest MVC Hitting Streaks in 2007

Mark Kelly, Southern Illinois, 21 games
Jim Viscomi, Evansville, 17 games (current)
Adam Hills, Southern Illinois, 15 games (current)

SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS
SEMO is 14-5 in its last 19 games and currently holds a two-game winning streak. The Redhawks recently moved into a tie for first place in the OVC when it won two of three against Jacksonville State. SEMO leads the OVC with 30 home runs spread over nine different players this season. Nick Harris is the Redhawks' leading home run threat with eight. Matt Wagner and Asif Shah follow with five apiece. As a team, SEMO is hitting .270. Pitching wise, the Redhawks own a league-leading 3.93 ERA.
