DePaul 2, University of Missouri 0
University of Missouri pitcher Jen Bruck
On her pitch count...
"I think we counted 37 pitches in the 5th inning. So the pitch count was definitely low. It was good to get the swinging early."
On errors...
"With any error, I kind of clear my head. If it was someone else I would pick them up and if it is me, hopefully someone else will pick me up."
University of Missouri infielder Sarah Stringer
On the DePaul pitcher...
"Sure, she was a good pitcher, but we should have been able to hit off of her. We will come back today and put some hits together."
University of Missouri Head Coach Ehren Earleywine
On the game...
"It was one of those games that you hate to see anyone lose. It was two great pitchers locking horns. Both teams were making plays on defense and were moving the ball around. It came down to the fact that they made less mistakes then we did. You have to give DePaul a lot of credit. We hit so many ground balls and they made play after play. A lot of those balls were firm hit balls; they just weren't in the holes. It was just good old-fashioned softball."
On the next game...
"Like I said yesterday, we have a good number 2 pitcher in Jana Hainey and if we need innings from Jen Bruck, she should be ready to go (on having a low pitch count). This team is pretty resilient. Anything can happen, but one thing that won't happen is that we won't quit."
DePaul Head Coach Eugene Lenti
On the team's performance...
"This was the formula that we follow mostly throughout the year. Great pitching by Tracie (Adix), spectacular defense by the infield and timely hitting when we needed it. We knew we were going to be in a huge game today."
On not having to play until tomorrow...
"It just means that I get to Dairy Queen a lot earlier than I normally would. It is a great position to be in. Everyone here is still hungry and you have to now that they still have life left. We usually go with carpe diem, seize the day, but we changed it to carpe momentum, seize the moment. That is what we have to do tomorrow, seize the moment."
DePaul infielder Amber Patton
On hitting towards Missouri's pitcher...
"At this time of year anything can happen, we read their scouting report and it seemed like that was out best chance to hit their pitcher. Just hitting the balls anywhere, make her field the ball and anything can happen."
DePaul pitcher Tracie Adix
On her performance...
"I felt really good. My entire body was relaxed. I just stood out there and did what I had to do. I knew what I had to do and pitched to the best of my ability. They were pretty aggressive hitters; they swing a lot at first. They are a good bunch of hitters."
