Men's Basketball Big Dawg season tickets are on-sale

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Saluki Athletics is now selling men's basketball season tickets with wider seats in two upper bowl sections, designated as "Big Dawg" sections. The bleacher seating in sections GG and OO has been expanded from 17 inches to 19 inches, giving these season-ticket holders extra room.
"We recognize that the seating marks in the bleachers at SIU Arena were narrow even by 1960s standards when the arena was first built," said Director of Athletics Mario Moccia. "By re-drawing the lines, we've given our valued season-ticket holders added space."
Approximately 200 seats are available in the two sections, according to Associate AD Chet Savage, who said tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
"Fans can stop by the ticket office any time during normal business hours and are welcome to pick their seats," Savage said.
The ticket office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and seats in the Big Dawg sections are priced at $160. Regular bench seating in the upper bowl is $150. No Saluki Athletic Scholarship Fund (SASF) donation is required to purchase seats in these sections.
As an added bonus, all season-ticket holders will have the opportunity to participate in a pre-sale for single-game tickets to all home games, including marquee matchups against Indiana, Butler, Creighton, Wichita State and BracketBusters.
Saluki head coach Chris Lowery said there's never been a better time to become a Saluki basketball season-ticket holder.
"We're going to have an exciting team and a great home schedule," Lowery said. "Between the Big Dawg seats and the chance to buy single-game tickets, our season-ticket holders are getting a tremendous value."
