CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois softball team will host the ninth annual Saluki Softball Fundraising Dinner Friday, Feb. 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Copper Dragon in Carbondale, Ill.

The fundraiser helps the team travel to tournaments with top-level competition such as, the Jacksonville University Invitational, Bulldog Round Robin at Mississippi State, Middle Tennessee State Classic and Malihini Kipa Aloha Tournament in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The event marks the second straight year that the fundraiser will be held at Copper Dragon located on Grand Ave.
The dinner costs $15 per person, and all proceeds will directly benefit the Saluki softball program.
The dinner will be catered by 17th Street Bar & Grill, and prizes will also be raffled off throughout the night.

The Salukis are coming off their fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. SIU is one of only 25 schools in the nation to hold that distinction, and they will open the 2008 season on Feb. 8 against UNC-Greensboro at the Jacksonville University Invitational.
