Lennon named AFCA Region 4 Coach of the Year

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Dale Lennon was named American Football Coaches Association Region 4 Coach of the Year Tuesday. Lennon, also the 2008 Missouri Valley Football Conference Coach of the Year, went 9-3 in his first season at the Saluki helm.
A native of Knox, N.D., Lennon guided Southern Illinois University to a share of the Valley Football title and its sixth-consecutive NCAA postseason berth.
Lennon joined Villanova's Andy Talley (Region 1), Appalachian State's Jerry Moore (Region 2), Prairie View A&M's Henry Frazier (Region 3) and Central Arkansas' Clint Conque (Region 5) as this year's Football Championship Subdivision honorees.
The 2008 Regional Coach of the Year winners will be recognized at the AFCA's Coach of the Year Dinner, scheduled for January 13 in Nashville, Tenn.
