Glosson selected to MVC All-Tournament Team

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Freshman right-handed pitcher Danielle Glosson was named to the State Farm MVC All-Tournament Team following the completion of Saturday's championship game at Charlotte West Stadium.
Glosson struck out seven of the first 10 batters she faced en route to a career-high 11 strikeouts in the Salukis' 5-0 loss to Missouri State on Thursday night.
The Winston-Salem, N.C. native also only allowed one earned run in 6 2/3 innings in her first MVC Tournament game.
Glosson becomes only the sixth freshman in program history to be named to the all-tournament team, and second in as many years after sophomore Alicia Garza was selected to the all-tournament team last season.
She finished her freshman campaign with a team-best 2.30 earned run average, and 131 strikeouts, which ranked sixth and seventh in the MVC. She also moved into 10th place for career strikeouts at Southern Illinois and averaged just less than one strikeout per inning pitched.
Glosson also ranked fifth in the league, by holding opponents to a mere .217 batting average against her during the season.
