Softball concludes fall season at home Friday against SEMO

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Saluki softball team will conclude fall exhibition play on Friday with a doubleheader against SEMO beginning at 5:15 p.m. at Charlotte West Stadium.

Southern Illinois enters the fall finale with a 3-3 record, and is coming off a second place finish in the silver bracket at last weekend's inaugural Illinois Collegiate Championship in Normal, Ill.

Sophomore outfielder Chelsea Held and freshman shortstop Haley Gorman have led SIU offensively this fall with a .421 and .381 batting average, and senior third baseman Katie Wagner has also contributed on offense with a team-high seven RBI.

Sophomore right-hand pitcher Nikki Waters enters the pair of games with a .36 earned run average with 10 strikeouts to lead the way in the circle.

Admission is free for the doubleheader, and the second game is schedule to start at approximately 7:15 p.m.
