COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Southern Illinois University women's golf team will compete in the Johnie Imes Invitational hosted by the University of Missouri Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 29-30, at The Club at Old Hawthorne.
"This is the first time we're going to the Johnie Imes Invitational.," said head coach Diane Daugherty. "It's a fabulous golf course, so we're really looking forward to that."
Joining SIU in the tournament will be Kansas, Missouri State, Mizzou, Memphis, Princeton, Bradley, Iowa, Texas State, Florida International, UMKC, Ole Miss, Drury, Middle Tennessee State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Mississippi State, and Redlands Community College. "This will be some of the stiffest competition we have until we go to Hawaii," Daugherty said. "It will be a really good test for us."
Braidy Hood, Meg Gilley, Alisha Matthews, Kate Laegeler, and Alex Anderson will round out the top five golfers for the Salukis.
