Baseball Team Participates in Turkey Trot

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University baseball team along with staff from the Athletic Department came together this past Sunday to participate in the American Marketing Association's Turkey Trot.
The event, a 5k run and walk, was created in order to collect food for those in need in Southern Illinois this holiday season.
Participants paid a $5 entrance fee that will be donated to help the Fuhne family, whose daughter Crystal, an SIUC student, was hit by a drunk driver this past summer. Crystal, also a member of the Athletic Training program, suffered severe brain injuries, but is on the path to recovery through extensive rehabilitation.
The money raised by the student-athletes, staff, and participants will aid the Fuhne family with medical costs during this stressful time.
