Bryan Mullins named to Academic All-District team

Southern Illinois senior guard Bryan Mullins was named to the District V ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District men's basketball team on Thursday.
The Downers Grove, Ill.-native made the team for the second-straight season, and he is one of 40 players to advance to the Academic All-America ballot, an honor he won last year.
Mullins, who is currently sidelined with a stres fracture in his right foot, leads the Missouri Valley Conference in assists and recently became just the second player in league history to surpass 500 career assists and 250 career steals.
He ranks among the career leaders in numerous categories at Southern, including assists, steals, 3-point shooting, career starts and minutes played.
Mullins is a finance major with a perfect 4.0 GPA. He was named an ESPN The Magazine CoSIDA Second-Team Academic All-American in 2008.
