Justin Bocot named State Farm/MVC Newcomer of the Week

Saluki guard Justin Bocot was named the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Making just his second-career start, the first-year sophomore scored 28 points in a win at Missouri State on Saturday. Eighteen of his points came in the second half, as SIU rallied from three points down at halftime to win by eight.

Bocot was 6-of-9 from 3-point range and 6-of 6 from the line against the Bears. For the week, Bocot averaged 18.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and made 7-of-13 (.538) shots from 3-point and 12-of-14 (.857) from the line.
