RICHMOND, Ky. - The Southern Illinois Salukis finished 14th at the Eastern Kentucky University Spring Invitational. The Salukis shot 988 (338-322-328) in two days of play in the 18-team tournament.
Braidy Hood led the Salukis after day two with a 245 (83-83-79) while Kate Laegeler was close behind shooting a 249 (81-81-87). Alex Anderson shot a 250 (88-79-83), with Alisha Matthews one stroke behind shooting a 251 (86-86-79). Meg Gilley rounded out the Saluki lineup with a 258 (90-79-89).
SIU finished just behind the host team, Eastern Kentucky and ahead of Evansville, SIU-Edwardsville, University of Dayton, and Bowling Green State.
"We're just hoping this tough course prepared us for conference," head coach Diane Daugherty said of the Arlington Golf Club. "And we build our whole season around conference."
The EKU Spring Invitational wraps up regular season play for the Salukis. The team will travel to Panora, Iowa for the Missouri Valley Conference Championships April 17-19.
