CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois softball team (31-11, 13-6) concludes the regular season with a three-game series at Indiana State (17-24, 9-13) this weekend.
The series opens on Saturday with a 12 p.m. ET doubleheader and wraps up on Sunday with a single game at noon ET.
SIU has already secured a bid in next week's State Farm MVC Tournament, but has the potential to claim the regular-season championship with some help from Wichita State.
If Creighton is swept by the Shockers, and Southern wins at least two games they would win the league title, or if the Bluejays lose twice and the Salukis swept they would win the regular-season.
SIU will be playing for the first time in a week, after having a pair of doubleheaders rained out during the week. Despite the week-long layoff, SIU enters the final series with a three-game win streak, and has won five of its last six games.
Indiana State has won four of its last six, but dropped both games of a doubleheader at Bradley this past Wednesday.
Southern Illinois has won 22-straight games against Indiana State, and leads the all-time series 60-16.
All three games can be heard live online through Saluki All-Access, or for the first time this season on WDDD 810 AM.
