2009 Regular-Season Finale
Southern Illinois University closes out its 2009 regular-season at Evansville this weekend. The Salukis and Purple Aces open a three-game series on Thursday at 6 p.m., CT.
Storms Tear Through Southern Illinois
SIU's series against Wichita State was cancelled due to an inland hurricane that tore through Carbondale last weekend. The Salukis enter their final league series at 8-9 and in sixth-place in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Keep it Going
The Salukis, after ending the first half of Missouri Valley Conference play on an eight-game losing streak, have since won five of their last six league games. SIU goes for its third-straight series win in the Valley after sweeping Illinois State (4/24-26) and winning two of three at Bradley (5/1-3).
MVC Tournament Berth on the Brink
SIU must win one game against Evansville to punch its ticket to this year's State Farm MVC Tournament in Wichita, Kan., May 20-23. The Salukis could finish as high as fourth if they sweep the Purple Aces and Creighton sweeps Wichita State.
