Gene Teague named MVC Newcomer of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Gene Teague, a 6-foot-9 freshman center from Living Faith Christian Academy (N.J.) was named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Teague averaged 13.0 points and 7.5 rpg last week as the Salukis split a pair of road games. He was 9-of-12 (.750) from the field and 8-of-13 (.615) from the line. In the win at Evansville, Teague made all five of his shots from the field. Prior to last week, Teague had averaged 2.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 14 games.
