Jeneva McCall named MVC Field Athlete of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Southern Illinois senior thrower Jeneva McCall was named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
The honor comes after she won the women's shot put and discus throw, and finished third in the hammer throw behind her Saluki teammates. McCall threw a career-best 52' 7.25" (16.03m) to win the shot put. She then threw another career-high 181' 9" (55.41m) to win the discus and 194' 10" (59.40m) to take third in the hammer.
McCall ranks first in the MVC, eighth in the West Region and 15th in the country in the shot and first in the league, third in the region and fourth in the country in the discus.
This weeks men's track athlete of the week was Michael Disher of Indiana State and the men's field athletes was Major Clay of Indiana State. The women's track athlete was Erica Moore, also of Indiana State.
