Men's Golf concludes play at UTA/Waterchase Invitational

ARLINGTON, Texas - The Southern Illinois men's golf team completed its second fall tournament of the season, finishing in 15th place at the UTA/Waterchase Invitatonal Tuesday afternoon.
SIU earned a combined score of 902 after 54 holes of golf.
"We have a lot of new faces in the lineup this year and we are adjusting to playing at the level of our competition," said head coach Leroy Newton. "We know what we need to work on and we are looking forward to getting back out on the course."
David Griffin, Jake Erickson, and Brandon Cauldwell each earned an individual score of 226 putting them in a three-way tie for 56th place.
Joe Goelzhauser and Richie Williams finished the tournament with score of 233 and 243, respectively.
The University of North Texas finished on top of the tournament with a combined score of 844, placing four golfers in the top-20.
The Salukis will return to the course on Sept. 25 when they travel to Lemont, Ill. for the John Dallio Memorial.
