CARBONDALE, Ill. - The SIU softball team has announced its dates for winter hitting and pitching camps.
The pitching camp will take place on January 13-14, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Davies Gym for athletes in 2nd through 12th grade. Registration is open for 70 participants and cost is $90 for the two-day session. Athletes will receive four hours of instruction each day and will consist of work to increase control, speed, and corrections of common problems.
The hitting camp will take place on January 20-21, 2012 for athletes in the 5th through 12th grade at Sportsblast in Carbondale. Space is available for 60 participants and cost is $90 for the session. Four hours of instruction will take place over two sessions and includes group and individual instruction. Athletes will also spend time hitting in the cages, off tees, and doing various drills. Instruction will be given on stance and swing. SIU players and coaches will also be on hand for the two sessions.
A poster and an autograph session with the SIU softball team will take place at each camp.
