The Southern Illinois men's golf team finished 10th at the Samford Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The Salukis shot a total score of 603 (299-304) in two days of play in the 18-team tournament.
Only 36 holes of golf were completed in the tournament today as the third round was canceled due to rain.
Brandon Cauldwell posted the top score for the Salukis with a 150 (72-78), while George Tate and Jeffrey Miller followed behind, each carding a score of 151, putting them in a tie for 38th.
David Griffin shot a combined score of 155 (73-82). Jake Erickson completed the line-up for the Salukis posting a two-round score of 157.
"I am disappointed in our overall finish but am pleased with our scores considering the windy conditions," SIU head coach Leroy Newton said. "Everyone contributed individually and had a good round. Now, we just need to put it all together."
The Salukis will return to the course when they travel to Jackson, Tenn. for the Grover Page Classic hosted by UT Martin on Mar. 14-15.
