SIU senior defensive end Ken Boatright has been selected to the Associated Press FCS All-America Third Team, the AP announced Wednesday. This is Boatright's second All-America honor this year. He was also named to the American Football Coaches' FCS All-America Team earlier this month. In addition, Boatright was named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference's All-Conference First Team.
The senior was a force on the Salukis' dominant defensive line in 2012. He finished third in the MVFC with 13.5 tackles for loss and tied for seventh in the conference with 5.5 sacks. In addition he recorded 62 tackles and blocked a punt, which he recovered for a touchdown. A two-year starter, Boatright was a team captain this season.
Earlier this week Boatright's teammate MyCole Pruitt was named to The Sports Network All-America Third Team as a tight end.
