Track and Field set to compete in Iowa State Classic

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois track and field teams travel to Ames, Iowa this weekend to compete in the Iowa State Classic Thursday through Saturday inside the Lied Recreation Center.
Over 50 teams will compete in the ISU Classic this weekend including Northern Iowa, North Texas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kansas State, Iowa, DePaul, Wichita State, Southern Methodist, Nebraska, Miami (FL) and Bradley.
Multi-event competition will kick off the meet on Thursday at 12:30 p.m and Friday at 9 a.m. Non-seeded events will follow the multi-events on Friday beginning with the men's long jump at 11 a.m. and the men's 3000-meter run at noon. Seeded events are scheduled for Saturday, starting with the men's pole vault and men's 3000-meter run at 11 a.m.
SIU will look to continue their momentum from the Saluki Invitational last weekend when they recorded 12 first-place finishes and surpassed eleven schools to win the invitational.
