Men's Basketball announces conference schedule

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University released its men's basketball conference schedule on Thursday, unveiling a slate that features home-and-home dates versus each of the nine other league schools.
The Salukis open the Missouri Valley Conference regular season on Dec. 30 at Missouri State, where SIU head coach Barry Hinson served as the head coach for nine years from 1999 to 2008. The conference home opener takes place on Jan. 2 versus Bradley at 7:05 p.m.
Southern has its lengthiest home stand from Jan. 27 to Feb. 16, when it plays five of seven contests at SIU Arena. Home opponent during that three-week stretch include Creighton (Jan. 27), Drake (Jan. 30), Wichita State (Feb. 5), Evansville (Feb. 13) and Missouri State (Feb. 16).
The Missouri Valley Conference will announce its television schedule later this month. Game times are subject to change.
