CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Southern Illinois women's golf team dropped the one-round Dual at Dalhousie to Murray State on Saturday afternoon by nine strokes, 309-318. Amy Lee led the team and finished third overall with a 77.
Lee posted a 36 on the back nine, the lowest back-nine score in the 12-player tournament. Lee led the tournament in par-4 scoring at even par. Ashleigh Rushing (79) tied for fourth in the tournament and was the only other Saluki golfer under 80 for the tournament.
Cassie Rushing (80), Shaina Rennegarbe (82), Alexis Gatton (87) and Mattie Lindner (88) also competed for Southern Illinois. Cold and rainy conditions contributed to high scores for both sides, with the 12 golfers combining for just 13 birdies.
SIU is off until April 14-15, when the Salukis head to Bloomington, Ind., for the Indiana Invitational.
