Saluki softball announces fall schedule

Fall Schedule
CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University softball program announced its 2014 fall schedule on Thursday. The Salukis will play eight games in a three week span in late September and early October, including six games at Charlotte West Stadium.
The fall schedule opens on September 20 with a doubleheader starting at noon. Southern will take on Lindenwood-Belleville before facing Saint Louis in the second game. The following day, September 21, the Salukis will face John A. Logan Community College and Murray State in another noon doubleheader.
Southern Illinois' lone road weekend takes place in Bloomington, Ind., on September 28. SIU will face Butler in the opening game at 10 a.m. CDT and Indiana at 12:30 p.m. The fall season closes with a noon doubleheader on October 5 vs. Lake Land College and Southeast Missouri.
The Salukis return 13 letterwinners and five starters from last year's 28-25 team that got third in the Missouri Valley Conference.
