Men's Basketball hosts Bradley on Wednesday

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University men's basketball team hosts Bradley at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday. Junior guard Anthony Beane will be presented with his career 1,000-point ball during a ceremony 10 minutes before tip for the Salukis (8-11, 1-5). The Braves (6-13, 1-5) are 0-9 away from home this season, but they beat SIU, 63-44, in the first meeting between the schools in Peoria on Jan. 3.

Hinson tied with Rich Herrin for career MVC-only wins
Saluki head coach Barry Hinson (111-93, .544) needs one more win to surpass former Saluki head coach Rich Herrin in career wins in MVC-only games (111-107, .509). They are currently tied for fifth all-time in MVC wins behind Henry Iba (187), Dana Altman (182), Eddie Hickey (163) and F.C. Allen (126).

Anthony Beane scored 20 points vs. Loyola -- the first time he's reached that mark since scoring 22 at SEMO on Dec. 10.
Bola Olaniyan has 41 points and 27 rebounds in his last four games, including a career-high 13 points vs. Indiana State.
The Salukis have been held below 60 points in six-straight games -- the longest streak since the 1946-47 team failed to score 60 points in nine-straight contests.
SIU is +30 in rebounding in its last three games.
Jalen Pendleton scored 11 points vs. Loyola and reached double figures for the first time since Dec. 22.
The Salukis have outscored their opponents in the first half in 11-of-19 games, but have been outscored in the second half 13-of-19 times.
The Salukis are 0-5 in games decided by four points or less.
Anthony Beane takes 31.9 percent of the team's shots when he is on the court, second only in the league to Evansville's D.J. Balentine, who takes 34.1 percent.
Series versus Bradley
Bradley has won four of the last five meetings with SIU, including a 63-44 win in Peoria on Jan. 3. In their last 44 MVC road games, the Braves are 3-2 at SIU Arena, but 2-37 in their other 39 Valley road contests.
Anthony Beane among school, conference scoring leaders
On Dec. 22, G Anthony Beane (6-2, 190, Jr.) became the 44th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point plateau. Beane now has 1,080 -- placing him 33rd all-time at SIU and tied with former teammate Desmar Jackson. He also ranks 20th all-time in career 3-pointers (92). Among active MVC players, Beane ranks third behind Northern Iowa's Seth Tuttle (1,481) and Evansville's DJ Balentine (1,408). UNI's Deon Mitchell is fourth (1,067) and there are no other 1,000-point scorers in the league. Beane is third in the MVC in scoring (16.5) this year. Six times he has topped the 20-point mark, including a career-high 32 points at Tennessee State.

Jordan Caroline (2.6) and Bola Olaniyan (2.3) rank among the league leaders in offensive rebounding. Caroline is second, Olaniyan is sixth. SIU has a +3.0 rebounding margin this season, which ranks third in the MVC.
