Salukis finish Indiana State Spring Invitational in seventh place

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Saluki women's golf team finished its final regular season tournament in seventh place at the Indiana State Spring Invitational on Monday, dropping nine strokes on Day Two for a 631 overall team score.
Indiana State maintained its lead from Day One, finishing the tournament in first place at 609, also coming away with the top individual competitor who shot 148 overall.
For the fourth time this season, junior Mattie Lindner led the Salukis, finishing tied for 11th place with a 155. Sophomore Hanna Netisingha joined Lindner, tying for 11th after shooting the Salukis' lowest score of the tournament - a 75 on Round Two - to finish at 155 overall.
Sophomore Brooke Cusumano, who was tied with Lindner for SIU's top spot after Day One, added three strokes to her score, moving her to tie for 34th. Kristie Yang's round of 80 left her at 162 overall for 39th place. Senior Kris Grimes and SIU's individual golfers - Morgan Reimler and Alice Ho - each tied for 43rd with 164 scores.
The Salukis maintained their lead over conference rival Evansville, who finished ninth, but were topped by Indiana State, Bradley, Loyola and Northern Iowa, the remaining MVC competitors.
SIU will travel to Burlington, Iowa this weekend to compete in the MVC Championships beginning on Sunday, April 19.
