Saluki men and women named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams

The Southern Illinois men's and women's track and field teams earned All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the 2014-15 year. Three male and three female student-athletes earned individual honors from the organization.
Freya Block (Agricultural Systems & Education), Sophia Lozano (Mathematics), Krista Menghini (Exercise Science), Kyle Landon (Accounting), Nathan Schuck (Criminology & Criminal Justice) and Chad Weaver (Finance) all earned All-Academic Individual honors. Lozano earned her third-straight All-Academic honor from the USTFCCCA, while Menghini and Landon earned the honor for the second-straight year.
To earn the accolade, teams must have posted a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0 during the spring 2015 semester. The Saluki women achieved a 3.31 GPA, and the men posted a 3.07 GPA.
For an individual to qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org
- For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
