Brooke Cusumano named MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Brooke Cusumano continues to add to her honors list, this time adding Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. Cusumano was honored for her performances during the period of Sept. 14 - Sept. 20.
Cusumano earned her first-career tournament win at Southern Illinois, besting the field at the MSU Invitational. Along with her individual win, Cusumano helped guide SIU to a second-place team finish. The St. Louis native shot a career two-round score of 148. Her medalist win also earned her MVC Golfer of the Week honors. At the UIC Fall Invitational, Cusumano finished second overall and helped SIU to their first win of the season. Outside of competition, Cusumano holds a perfect 4.0 GPA in the College of Business as an accounting major.
To qualify for Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week laurels, student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20, completed at least one academic year at a Valley institution and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing.
Southern wraps-up play at the Loyola Fall Invitational today. SIU finished the first day of the tournament in first-place.
