Southern Illinois will face Eastern Illinois (5-26) in a Tuesday night game.
TUESDAY'S STARTER
RHP Bryce Sablotny will be on the bump for SIU against the Panthers. Sablotny is 2-3 this season with an ERA of 6.19. The senior has pitched 36.1 innings with 21 strikeouts.
SCOUTING THE SALUKIS
The Salukis enter Tuesday's matchup with a 19-13-1 record. Southern is comes into the game after dropping two of three games against Indiana State in the MVC opener. SIU is hitting .265 with 159 runs scored. Greg Lambert leads the team in batting average (.326) and hits (42(, while Logan Blackfan remains the RBI leader with 28. SIU's pitching staff holds an ERA of 3.55 with 203 strikeouts.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS

Michael Baird was three-outs away from a no-hitter, before Illinois hit a bloop single in the ninth inning on Sunday (Mar. 20). Baird bounced back to get three-straight outs to pitch the first complete game shutout since 2012. It was also the first time the Salukis held an opponent to one hit since 2008. Baird was rewarded for his performance by earning his first career MVC Pitcher of the Week honor.

The Saluki pitching staff has been phenomenal so far this season, ranking second in the MVC with an ERA of 3.55.
