Regular season finale at Wichita State rained out

WICHITA, Kan. - Today's Southern Illinois softball game at Wichita State has been canceled due to inclement weather. SIU finishes the regular season at 32-18, 15-10 MVC and will begin postseason play at the MVC Tournament on Thursday at Charlotte West Stadium.
SIU's win yesterday clinched a first-round bye in the MVC Tournament. SIU will be the No. 4 seed in the MVC Tournament and play at approximately 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 12.

Here are a few notes from the regular season:
- SIU finished in the top four in the MVC after being picked sixth
- SIU finished in the top half of the MVC for the 16th consecutive season
- SIU won 32 games, its winningest regular season since 2012 (34 regular season wins)
- Shaye Harre led the MVC in on-base percentage (all games) at .511.
- Harre became the first MVC player since 2003 to average 1.0 walks drawn per MVC game
- Brianna Jones led the MVC in ERA, shutouts and wins
- As a team, SIU led the MVC in fielding percentage during conference games (.970)
- SIU led the MVC in ERA, opposing batting average, hits allowed, runs allowed, earned runs allowed, walks allowed, doubles allowed, and home runs allowed,
- SIU has a +99 run differential after 50 games
- In MVC play, Jessica Heese's nine doubles and Eyrika Brandenburg's 11 sacrifice bunts led the conference
