EUGENE, Ore. - The United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and TrackTown USA will again broadcast the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championships and will host "TrackTownLIVE" from Historic Hayward Field. Southern Illinois senior thrower DeAnna Price and Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Kathleen Raske will make an appearance during today's webcast at 7:51 p.m. central to discuss Price's historic season as well as her goals for the remainder of 2016.
"TrackTownLIVE" will air live online today from 7:15-8:15 p.m. The show, which is a joint production of the USTFCCCA and TrackTown USA, will be simulcast on USTFCCCA.org, FloTrack.org and Runnerspace.com.
With a NCAA National Championship already to her name, Price continues to rewrite the all-time collegiate hammer throw top-10 list in her final season with the Salukis. The collegiate leader and NCAA West Regional Champion now owns four of the ten farthest throws ever by a collegiate, and has equaled or surpassed 230 feet (70.10m) 17 times this season. Her toss of 238'-5" (72.66m) at SIU-Edwardsville on April 29 surpassed the Olympic 'A' standard by well over a meter and is the furthest throw by a collegiate American.
The NCAA Championships are set to begin Wednesday, June 8 from Hayward Field when the men's competition gets underway. The women start on Thursday with the exciting conclusions of the team championships coming on Friday and Saturday. The meet will be broadcast live on the ESPN family of networks as well as online via espn3.com and the WatchESPN app.
The show will again be hosted by Jordan Kent, former Oregon Duck and letterwinner in three sports, and Paul Swangard, long-time public address announcer at Historic Hayward Field.
