Cusumano adds to great week with Golfer of the Week honors

After her strong showing on Monday and Tuesday at the Murray State Drake Creek Invitational, senior Brooke Cusumano has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golfer of the Week. This is her third time earning the honor.

Cusumano finished tied for second at the Murray State Drake Creek Invitational on Tuesday. She was just one stroke behind tournament champion Mary Joiner from Western Kentucky. Cusumano turned in the lowest three-round score of her college career at 218; It was the fifth-lowest three-round score in Saluki history. She made even more history with her final round score of 1-under-par 71. It was tied for the sixth-lowest third round score in school history. Cusumano also moved into a tie for seventh on SIU's all-time list of rounds in the 70s with 50.

The St. Louis native is no stranger to earning conference awards. She was a 2015 selection to the MVC All-Conference team and last won Golfer of the Week in 2015 after winning the Murray State Invitational last year. She has also won numerous academic awards including the Elite 18 Award and the MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award in 2015.
