Salukis in fourth after day one of MVC Preview

After the first day of play, the SIU Women's Golf Team stands in fourth with an overall score of 610, tying seventh lowest all time 36-hole score at the MVC Preview.
The Salukis are one stroke behind Northern Iowa, two strokes off of second place Indiana State and 12 strokes behind first place Wichita State.
The Salukis ended the first round in first place with an overall score of 301 and Senior Hanna Netisingha finished tied for first shooting 71. The team tied for the 15th best opening round score in the SIU Women's Golf record books.
Netisingha's 71 tied her for seventh in best opening round score. She ended the day in second with an overall score of 146 putting her 14th in all time low-36-hole scores.
"Hanna really managed her game today in the wind," Head Coach Alexis O'Brien said. "She was relaxed and hitting confident shots. I'm looking forward to watching her tomorrow."
Senior Alice Ho and Sophomore Erica Kerr ended tied for seventh with a two-round score of 149, three strokes behind Netisingha.
O'Brien said she is impressed with Kerr who is playing as an individual. She made multiple birdies throughout both rounds and proved she should be in the lineup.
The MVC Preview will conclude tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring can be found on Golfstat.com.
