Harre, candidate for Senior Class Award

OVERLAND PARK, KAN. - The 2016-17 Senior CLASS Award candidates for collegiate softball were announced, today. Southern Illinois University's Shaye Harre was one of 30 players in the country named to the class.Â
In 2016, Harre was a second team Academic All-American and first-team All-Distric and Conference selection. Harre currently leads the Salukis in batting average, on base percentage, hits, and walks. She also holds a 3.9 GPA in Animal Sciences.Â
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. The 30 candidates will be narrowed down to the top ten in March. Ballots will then be distributed nationwide for voting by the media, coaches and fans, to select one candidate for the award.Â
