Jones earns Pitcher of the Week honors

CARBONDALE, ILL. - Brianna Jones has been selected as this week's Pitcher of the Week, the Missouri Valley Conference announced today. The honor is the fourth of Jones' career, and the seventh overall weekly award she has earned. Her seven weekly honors tie her for seventh most in conference history.
This past weekend Jones made an appearance in every game against Drake, picking up two wins and a save. The sophomore started games one and three and pitched complete games in both. Game one was also a shut out, the 12th of her career, placing her in tie for tenth most all time in SIU history. It took Jones only 40 starts to accomplish the feat.
 In her two wins she gave up a total of six hits in 14 innings of work and allowed one run. Her dominance on the mound held Drake batters to a .125 batting average and only one extra base hit.Â
