The Southern Illinois baseball team heads down the road for a mid-week matchup with Southeast Missouri on Tuesday night. The Salukis and Redhawks are playing for the second time in the last three weeks. SIU took the first game, 4-2.

LHP Jamison Steege is making his first career start. He has made 10 appearances out of the bullpen this season.
Steege earned the win in the first meeting this year with the Redhawks. He pitched two scoreless innings in Southern's 4-2 win.
Southern is coming off a three-game sweep of No. 26 Tennessee Tech over the weekend. The Salukis are looking for their first four-game winning streak of the season.
SIU is 19-12 on the weekends and 2-8 in mid-week games.

SIU turned four double plays in the win against SEMO two weeks ago
Netemeyer's 12 saves are tied for second in SIU single-season history. Netemeyer also had 12 saves last season.
Netemeyer's next save will tie the school record set by Al Levine in 1990.
Since March 1, Netemeyer's stat line in 16 appearances: 18.0 IP, 0.00 ERA, 6H, 18 Ks, 6 BB, 11 saves.
Kopach stole four bases in the third game against No. 26 TTU on Sunday, which is tied for a school record and tied for the most in the NCAA this season.
Greg Lambert went 4-for-4 with seven RBIs in the SIU win on Sunday, marking the second time this season Lambert has recorded seven RBIs in a game. Southern's single-game school record is eight.
Lambert ranks third in the MVC in RBIs.
The Salukis have stolen 70 bases this year, which ranks 14th in the NCAA and leads the MVC by 36.
This is the first SIU team to steal 70 bases since 1995, when SIU stole exactly 70. With the next stolen base this season, Southern will have the program's most in a single season since the 1991 team stole 109 bases.
Logan Blackfan, who had only 1 double in his previous 24 games before the weekend, hit doubles in back-to-back games of the Tennessee Tech series.
Blackfan now has 49 career doubles, which is two away from the SIU career record
In the TTU series, Southern hit .336 as a team and pounded out 11 doubles and a triple in the three-game set.

SALUKIS VS. SEMO // LAST TIME OUT

Southeast Missouri jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but Southern's bullpen fired seven shutout innings to allow the Saluki offense to rally for a 4-2 win.
Ryan Smith made three big plays in the game...
- SEMO had the bases loaded with one out and hit a deep fly ball to right field. Smith caught it and doubled off a runner at second base before the run scored from third.
- Smith hit an RBI single in the third to put SIU on the scoreboard
- He tied the game with an RBI groundout
Jake Hand hit a home run on his 22nd birthday
Ryan Netemeyer secured his 11th save of the season
Addison Fugitt made his SIU debut after missing the first 33 games with an injury. He went 2-for-2 with a walk.
SIU improved to 53-29-1 all-time against SEMO.
Jamison Steege (2.0 IP), Austin McPheron (2.0 IP), Jacob Williams (1.0 IP) and Ryan Netemeyer (1.0 IP) finished the game with six scoreless innings. The quartet allowed only three hits.
