
Cusumano named to MVC Scholar-Athlete team

This is the third time she's earned the distinction
Women's golf senior Brooke Cusumano added another accolade to her resume today when she was named to the Missouri Valley Conference's Scholar-Athlete Team.

The 2016-17 season has been a banner one for Cusumano. In addition to being named to the Scholar-Athlete Team, the accounting major also made the All-Conference team and earned the Elite 18 Award for her achievements in the classroom and on the golf course.

The St. Louis native finished won two tournaments and finished in the top-10 10 times this season. She set a school record for stroke average in a season at 75.78 strokes per round and is now second all-time at SIU in rounds in the 70's. Â Cusumano achieved all of this while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in accounting.
