Softball Releases Fall Schedule

The Salukis will host eight games in four weekends
Saluki softball released its 2017 fall schedule today. The defending Missouri Valley Conference Champions will host eight teams from Sept. 10 to Oct. 1. All games will be played at Charlotte West Stadium.

Southern opens the fall season Sunday, Sept. 10 when local junior colleges John A. Logan and Rend Lake take on the Salukis at home. The following weekend, Southern will host regional foes Murray State and Saint Louis. Southern was slated to face the Racers and Billikens in the spring, but both games were cancelled. The Racers qualified for the National Invitational Softball Championship with a 36-20 record in the spring.

On Sept. 23, Lakeland and the University of Missouri-St. Louis will face off with the Salukis at Charlotte West Stadium. Southern closes the fall by hosting SEMO and Division II Southern Indiana. The Salukis defeated SEMO 3-1 in April. Southern Indiana went 46-14 in the spring and made a postseason run all the way to the NCAA Division II Softball Championship.
