Southern Illinois junior Jimmy Dooley has been named the Mid-American Conference Swimming and Diving athlete of the week for his performance verses McKendree. This is his first time earning the weekly MAC honor.

Dooley won both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke (58.01 and 2:07.35) in the Salukis season-opening meet against McKendree last Saturday.

Dooley primarily competes primarily in the 100- and 200-breast. Last season, the Round Lake, Ill. native was named to the MAC All-Academic team and swam top-five Salukis times in three events.
