The Southern Illinois baseball team travels to Austin Peay for the first mid-week game of 2018. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m., and the game will be video streamed free on the OVC Digital Network.

AROUND THE HORN

Southern Illinois plays its first mid-week game of the season on Tuesday at Austin Peay. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m., and video will be available on OVC Digital Network.
The SIU-APSU mid-week matchups have traditionally been high scoring.
- In the five games played at APSU since 2013, the lowest scoring game (combined runs) was last year's 10-3 Austin Peay win.
- The five games have averaged nearly 20 combined runs per game

Brad Harrison will make his second career start. As a true freshman in 2017, Harrison made 21 appearances out of the bullpen and started one game, at Eastern Illinois.
Harrison limited opponents to a .228 average last year, the third-best mark on the team (min. 20 innings).

OPENING WEEKEND

The Salukis were swept on opening weekend at Jacksonville State.
JSU led the first and third games start-to-finish. SIU held a 7-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning in the Saturday game, but the Gamecocks rallied to win 10-9.
Logan Blackfan hit 3 home runs in the series. He was one of only 13 players in the nation with three home runs on opening weekend.
The Salukis stole eight bases, which leads the MVC by three and ranks 13th in the nation.
